From Then to Now: A Brief History of the J.P. Bowlin Company

Over 70 years ago, Joe Bowlin opened his scale business in Fort Worth, Texas, to serve the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The business was located near downtown Fort Worth off of West Lancaster from 1946 through 2008. In 2008, JP Bowlin moved to their new location in west Fort Worth.

Joe Bowlin, now deceased, carried his company through many changes in the scale industry. His family always expected a road trip to include frequent business stops to talk scales. Silent Joe, as he was often called because of his outgoing personality, made many of his sales over a soda or cup of coffee during these stops.

The J.P. Bowlin Company has maintained the friendliness of the company that was started with Joe Bowlin while advancing with the current technology of weighing and measurement markets. Today, the JP Bowlin Team provides over 100 years of experience in Sales, Support and Integration of Weighing, Force Measurement, Calibration, Material and Physical Testing Products

A branch location of the J.P. Bowlin Company can be found in the heart of Houston at 701 Bradfield. The Houston office has been supplying sales and service of scales since the early 1970’s and continues to be an integral part of the Houston business community.

JP Bowlin remains locally owned and operated, expanding its services and products to include Service of all types of scales, measurement and test equipment.. Our experienced staff of technicians are trained to serviced and calibrated measurement products to the exacting quality standards as required by our customers.
